The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) announced that it has successfully achieved the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standard certification.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 is the most updated standard of its kind and focuses on quality management systems and performance. It assists companies and organizations in developing a management system that aligns quality with their wider operations strategy. There is a focus on risk-based thinking and accountability in all organizational processes that helps improve communications, efficiency, and implementation of continuous improvement to better serve its members.

“We are pleased to achieve this internationally known recognition for our quality systems and processes. PICE’s commitment to the ISO 9001:2015 framework demonstrates quality as our priority, from processes to support and services delivery. Our members can be confident that we will work even harder to exceed their quality expectations and continue to analyze and improve our processes,” said Dr. Maria Catalina E. Cabral, PICE president.

To maintain its certification, PICE has committed to continuously assess its quality management systems and processes and undergo follow-up audits annually. “In PICE, we take this standard very seriously and have instilled the ISO 9001:2015 requirements into our everyday processes,” explains Engr. Erdsan Rene S. Suero, PICE National 2nd Vice President and Admin-ISO Committee Chair.

The ISO 9001:2015 certificate will be officially awarded to the PICE by TUV Rheinland Philippines during the PICE 43rd National Convention on November 28, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.

The organization has previously earned certification under ISO 9001:2008 in 2014 under the leadership of Past President David G. Sanchez. PICE-PR
