Hon. Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III of the Department of Labor and Employment joins the officers and members of the Philippine Technological Council (PTC), the umbrella organization of 13 outstanding engineering professional organizations in the country as he led the induction of the newly elected 2021 officers and board of trustees of the council on April 15, 2021 held virtually.
In the same event, Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) facilitated the oathtaking of the officers and members of various major advocacy committees of PTC.
PICE President Dr. Erdsan Rene S. Suero who delivered the welcome remarks during the program is inducted to the PTC Executive Board as treasurer. Other PICE personalities who took their oath are Engr. Trese T. Bustamante as IRC officer and PTC MENA presidential adviser along with Engr. Elmer M. Amador, Engr. Maria Gracia P. Opeňa, Engr. Paquito P. Mirasol, Engr. Roy L. Baquiran and Engr. Vinzor A. Yee Concepcion as PTC MENA deputy presidential advisers and Engr. Girlie Boorboor as PTC USA presidential adviser.
Also sworn as Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Division 1 Officers are Dr. Manuel Muhi as Chair and Dr. Rosalinda Valdepeňas as Vice Chair and for the Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (ACBET) members: Dr. Francis Aldrine Uy, PICE main representative and Engr. Albert A. Perfecto and Engr. Rhonnie C. Estores as representatives.
The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) is the biggest member-organization in the council with almost a hundred thousand members scattered worldwide.
The purpose of Philippine Technological Council “is to foster professional inter-disciplinary collaboration and interaction among the individual professionals and its member- organizations; to keep abreast with the latest developments in the rapidly changing world; and, to effectuate a united rapport among the members and with those of other professions, the government and the communities. It endeavors to harmonize general policies and actions that affect the engineering profession across fields of practice, serves as the clearing house, and provides a forum for members in the settlement of inter-disciplinary differences and disputes. It acts as the focal point for advocacies that impact on the engineering profession and engineering practice and for international linkages and the continual improvement and promotion of global competitiveness of the Filipino engineers.”
