To start the month-long observance of the Civil Engineering Month, a “Thanksgiving Holy Mass” will be celebrated on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 10:00am to be presided by Rev. Fr. Jerry Orbos, SVD. The mass will be streamed LIVE via the Diocesan Shrine of Jesus the Divine Word and the PICE fb page with its name, Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc.
The month of November of every year is declared as “Civil Engineering Month” per Proclamation No. 904 Series of 2014.The celebration aims to bring to the attention and consciousness of the Filipino people the importance of civil engineers in nation building. All civil engineers and students are called upon to give the observance of the “Civil Engineering Month” their full support and cooperation. The theme is “PICE Focus 2020: Understanding the Past, Engineering the Future.”
There will be various activities lined-up for the month such as the 1st Virtual National Convention and Technical Conference on November 20-21, 2020, the search for the best celebrated civil engineering month competition for the chapters, student activities, among many others.
The chapters are therefore urged to join this worthwhile activity. The winners of the competition will be announced during the celebration of the PICE Day 2020 and its 83rd Founding Anniversary to be held virtually on 11 December 2020.
The PICE national president, Dr. Erdsan Rene S. Suero strongly advised that activities during the Civil Engineering Month at this time of the COVID19 pandemic should be conducted with utmost safety and should strictly follow the protocols set by government. The face-to-face events are thereby discouraged, he ended.
