The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) attended the 40th Executive Committee Meeting of the Asian Civil Engineering Coordinating Council (ACECC) conducted virtually on March 25-27, 2021 hosted by the Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering (CICHE) from Taipei, Taiwan.
The PICE delegation is composed of its National President Dr. Erdsan Rene S. Suero, Past National Presidents Hon. Romeo S. Momo, Dr. Ernesto S. De Castro, Dr. Maria Catalina E. Cabral, Dr. Benito M. Pacheco and Dr. Jaime A. Pacanan; Executive Director Rhonnie C. Estores; Engr. Pelita V. Galvez; Admin Head Oliver T. Bantolinao and the Future Leaders Forum PICE representatives – Engr. Maria Kay D. Eco and Engr. Warren Keith J. Nietes.
A new Technical Committee(TC) on Interdisciplinary Strategic Foresight as proposed by PICE was unanimously approved during the executive committee meeting to promote futures thinking and strategic foresight competencies among civil engineers and
civil engineering societies/institutes, advocate long-term strategic planning of infrastructure and their design, construction,
and maintenance for sustainability, resilience, and agility; and publish a strategic foresight handbook or sourcebook for civil engineering. The new TC will be chaired by Dr. Benito M. Pacheco.
