PICE to Host ACECC 39th ECM on October

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers will be hosting the Asian Civil Engineering Coordinating Council (ACECC) 39th Executive Committee Meeting (ECM) on October 5-7, 2020 in Manila.

The meeting will be attended by presidents and representatives of the 14-member societies of ACECC namely the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE), Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering (CICHE), Korean Society of Civil Engineers (KSCE), Vietnam Federation of Civil Engineering Associations (VFCEA), Engineers Australia (EA), Mongolian Association of Civil Engineers (MACE), Indonesian Society of Civil and Structural Engineers (HAKI), The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE India), The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), The Institution of Engineers, Pakistan (IEP), Nepal Engineers’ Association (NEA) and Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies (Fed. MES)

With the current COVID-19 situations in the world, the 3-day activity will be conducted through virtual web-based meeting system.

This ACECC bi-annual event will have the Technical Coordinating Committee Meeting (TCCM), Planning Committee Meeting (PCM), Future Leaders Forum (FLF) and the TC 22 – Retrofitting and Strengthening of Existing Infrastructures (IEP & IEB) Session on the first day, October 5, 2020; the Executive Committee Meeting, TC 24 – Gender and Development in Infrastructure (PICE) Session and the TC 21 – Transdisciplinary Approach for Building Societal Resilience to Disasters (JSCE) Session on the second day, October 6, 2020.

The final day on October 7, 2020 will mainly focus on a virtual/online technical tour to be facilitated by PICE showcasing the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Build Build Build (BBB) projects and the tourism destinations in the country.

ACECC was organized on September 27, 1999 in Tokyo, with 5 civil engineering societies/institutes present, namely ASCE, CICHE, JSCE, KSCE, and PICE, to promote collaborative work towards sustainable development of infrastructure within the Asian region. ACECC membership is open to worldwide professional organizations that comply with the criteria established in its Constitution and By-laws.
